The system

How income tax works in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan charges a flat 12% personal income tax on salary, the same rate for residents and non-residents, with no bands and no general tax-free amount on ordinary pay. What you see in the calculator is close to the whole story: tax at 12% of gross pay, and the rest is yours.

The empty contributions table is deliberate, not a gap in the data. Uzbek employees pay no separate social contributions. The individual pension fund (INPS) contribution of 0.1% is carved out of the 12% income tax itself, so total employee withholding stays at 12% rather than 12% plus something. Employers do pay a social tax on top of salary, 12% for standard private employers and 25% for budget organisations, but that money never comes out of the employee's pay. One special case is left out: staff of IT Park resident companies pay a reduced 7.5% income tax.

What this calculator leaves out

  • Flat 12% personal income tax on employment income for residents and non-residents; no general non-taxable minimum on ordinary salary
  • Employees pay no separate social contributions: the 0.1% individual pension fund (INPS) contribution is carved out of the 12% income tax, so total employee withholding stays 12%
  • Social tax (12% for standard private employers, 25% for budget organisations) is paid by the employer on top of gross and does not reduce net pay
  • A reduced 7.5% PIT applies to employees of IT Park resident companies; not modelled

FAQ

Uzbekistan tax — frequently asked questions

A flat 12% on employment income, for residents and non-residents alike. There is no tax-free threshold on ordinary salary.
Because employees do not pay any separately. The 0.1% pension fund contribution is taken out of the 12% income tax, so the total withheld from pay is still 12%.
Yes, a social tax of 12% of payroll for standard private employers, or 25% for budget organisations. It is an employer cost paid on top of your gross salary and does not reduce your take-home pay.
Employees of IT Park resident companies pay 7.5% income tax instead of 12%. That special regime is not modelled here; this calculator uses the standard 12% rate.
