Turkey taxes wages on a five-step tariff for 2026: 15% to TRY 190,000, 20% to TRY 400,000, 27% to TRY 1,500,000 (the wider band that applies to employment income), 35% to TRY 5,300,000 and 40% above. Wages are taxed on a cumulative basis through the year, so the band you are in deepens as the year goes on. Employees on the minimum wage pay no income tax on the minimum wage portion of their pay; that exemption is worth about TRY 57,881 of tax over 2026 and is applied here as a fixed credit against the tax bill.
Employees pay social security (SGK) at 14% and unemployment insurance at 1%, both charged on pay up to TRY 3,567,240 a year, the ceiling being nine times the gross minimum wage from 2026. Stamp tax of 0.759% is charged on gross wages with no ceiling and appears here as a contribution line; in law the minimum wage portion is exempt from it. In law the income tax base is pay minus the 15% contributions. This calculator taxes gross pay and then applies the exemption credit, so its income tax runs higher than payroll, especially in the lower bands of the cumulative scale.
