Each row prices the same job in both countries: the gross figures are the same US dollar salary converted into each currency at the reference rates of 28 October 2026 (1 USD = 1.2821 SGD and 278.5 PKR), rounded to the nearest 500. The last column converts the Pakistan take-home back into SGD at the same rate and subtracts the Singapore take-home, so a positive figure means more take-home pay in the country named. Income tax includes any regional tax, levies, credits and rebates in the standard model. It says nothing about what the money buys locally — see the purchasing-power points in the questions below the table where they apply.

What stands out

The two systems, in short

Singapore

Singapore taxes a salary through 13 bands from 0% to 24%, with the top rate applying from S$1,000,000. Employee contributions are CPF (employee, age 55 and below) at 20% on pay up to S$96,000; at the $100,000 salary level they add up to $14,975. At the $100,000 level the total deduction is $22,112: $7,137 of income tax and $14,975 of contributions, an effective rate of 22.1%.

Pakistan

Pakistan taxes a salary through 8 bands from 0% to 35%, with the top rate applying from Rs7,000,000. The model shows no separate employee social contributions for Pakistan, so the whole deduction sits in the tax line. At the $100,000 level the total deduction is $31,316, all of it income tax, an effective rate of 31.3%.

Both sides model a single employee with standard allowances only, so personal deductions, credits and family circumstances are outside the figures. For Singapore: Simplification: employee CPF is a tax relief in Singapore, but this calculator applies brackets to gross minus allowance only, so income tax is slightly overstated. Earned income relief (S$1,000 under age 55) and other personal reliefs are not modelled. For Pakistan: Non-salaried individuals and AOPs use a different, higher schedule (top rate 45%) plus a 10% surcharge above PKR 10 million; not modelled here.
