Each row prices the same job in both countries: the gross figures are the same US dollar salary converted into each currency at the reference rates of 28 October 2026 (1 USD = 18.6307 MXN and 95.221 INR), rounded to the nearest 500. The last column converts the India take-home back into MXN at the same rate and subtracts the Mexico take-home, so a positive figure means more take-home pay in the country named. Income tax includes any regional tax, levies, credits and rebates in the standard model. It says nothing about what the money buys locally — see the purchasing-power points in the questions below the table where they apply.
Mexico taxes a salary through 11 bands from 1.92% to 35%, with the top rate applying from $5,107,704. Employee contributions are IMSS employee contributions (blended) at 2.72% on pay up to $1,070,155; at the $100,000 salary level they add up to $1,562. At the $100,000 level the total deduction is $28,328: $26,766 of income tax and $1,562 of contributions, an effective rate of 28.3%. the employment subsidy (subsidio para el empleo — 13.8% of the monthly UMA under the 2024 decree, for monthly earnings up to about MXN 9,081) reduces or wipes out the tax of low earners, so results at low incomes are upper bounds.
